President and Owner, Mantos Consulting, Inc., Albuquerque, NM. August 1998 to present and March 1990 to May 1994:
  • Developed engineering analysis tools designed to increase output and efficiency of semiconductor factories.
  • Developed PC-based application to track vendor equipment training.
  • Produced end-user training and software internals manual.
  • Performed financial analysis of high-tech firms for possible acquisition and/or pre-IPO investment by others.
  • Provided technical advice and support to independent oil-and-gas producers.
  • Assisted board-level selection of technical managers by conducting pre-employment interviews of candidates for clients.
  Year 2000 Program Coordinator, Intel Corporation, Rio Rancho, NM. December 1997 to August 1998:
  • Coordinated the activities of the 200mm Fabs and all of the Sort facilities world-wide to address the Year 2000 issue. Intel was on track regarding critical systems.
  • Led several teams of site and functional area coordinators and stakeholders to help inventory, assess, test, remediate, and deploy solutions to ensure continued delivery of quality product while providing a safe working environment for employees.
  • Used virtual factory automation, engineering, and operations management forums to engage product owners.
  • Wrote the Yr2K Owner's Manual for Intel Technology Manufacturing Group.
  Sort 9/11 Automation Group Leader, Intel Corporation, Rio Rancho, NM. May 1994 to December 1997:
Built and managed a team (8+ people) that supported the automation (computer) activities of an organization (200+) dedicated to the testing, screening, and quality benchmarking of semiconductor products.
  • Primary output of the team included reliable, documented, and supported computing, network, and software platforms in support of manufacturing (testing) operations.
  • Testing involved the identification and classification of quality product, and providing parametric information used as feedback in support of the manufacturing, process, cost, and yield improvements.
  • The heterogeneous computing environment included multiple flavors of UNIX, NT, VAX/VMS, and Windows-based workstations as well as fault-tolerant servers operating under multiple network protocols including TCP/IP, DECNET, PATHWORKS, and Apollo Token Ring.
  • Fiscally responsible for a $1M operational/personnel budget and influenced multi-million dollar, strategic capital decisions.

Provided technical support and consultation to programming staff as a team member; Synchronized disparate remote databases; Designed database extracts for 4GL end-user reporting; Supported and enhanced payroll and manufacturing applications.
  Contract Programmer, Digital Equipment Corporation, Albuquerque, NM. September 1988 to November 1988:
This three-month contract produced a satisfied customer, code that is still in service, and a job offer:
  • Maintained software in many different languages for various manufacturing applications.
  • Designed and maintained database extracts and subroutines to interface Rdb, DBMS, and RMS with FOCUS 4GL.
  • Provided technical support to programmers.
  Systems Analyst, TAD Technical, Inc., Cambridge, MA. March 1986 to September 1988:
Key team member; aided in the design and implementation of a contract-support and invoicing system using COBOL and Rdb as front end to third party A/R, payroll, and G/L packages. This full-time permanent position encompassed many roles including varying degrees of design, specification, coding, testing, training, and enhancement. This successful project resulted in systems that have been continually improved and are in use today. Provided technical support to programmers, users, and managers. Supervised several college cooperative-education students.
  Director of Information Services, Access Innovations, Inc., Albuquerque, NM. January 1984 to January 1986:
Provided computer support for company functions including all phases of private database construction such as data-capture, conversion, enhancement, abstracting, indexing, and verification. Interfaced various machines and applications using RS-232 communication protocol. Responsible for budget and very small programming staff.
