Summary

Expertise in identifying and providing innovative and cost-effective solutions for varied technical problems in application systems, software interfaces, and hardware configurations. Over 25 years experience in distributed data processing, complex data structures, system and network management, systems programming, Windows programming, project leadership, and team management.

Achievements

Current projects include design and implementation of VAX-to-NT conversion utility for manufacturing database. Visual Basic with C++ DLL created for conversion of VAX binary data on NT prior to populating SQL Server database. Able to convert and load 1.7 million records per hour on Pentium Pro 200 processor.
  • Researched "lossless JPEG" algorithm source code on the Internet and converted to IBM C++ for implementation of compression/decompression API.
  • Designed and implemented SCSI device driver and API library for CD-R writer, CD jukebox, and desktop scanners in OS/2 environment. Customer applications written in IBM Visual C++.
  • Designed and implemented asset tracking database using Access97 and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
  • Developed OS/2 workstation software (Windows API) for online inquiry and editing of image data on IBM AS/400 host. Implemented in C and C++ using OS/2 Presentation Manager API window environment.
  • Adapted IBM mainframe high-speed image capture and image processor to the AS/400 up to 2mb/sec, implemented in System C and C/400.
  • Designed data and file utility library routines on both the AS/400 and OS/2 for transferring image data between the two systems. Implemented in C and C++ using OS/2 Communications Manager APPC and AS/400 CPIC system services. Wrote end-user documentation to support release of this tool as a new software product offering.
  • Created and implemented image print subsystem on the AS/400 to add image pages to existing statements. Written in C/400 using system services to convert existing spool files to AFPDS and add appropriate image data. Able to drive 60ppm printers at rated speed.
  • Designed and implemented image archive subsystem for OS/2 workstations interfaced with AS400 host. Provided support for a Kodak 6X CD-R device driven by C++ application to archive image data to CD and a 500-CD jukebox for online storage and retrieval of archive data.
