Commodity Information Technology (I.T.)
Stability First
A stable computing platform is a necessary prerequisite. If you are worried whether your network will be working
on Monday morning, if your printers are attached, files backed-up,
or if that's a virus causing your PC to run so slow; then we can't help you to use computers very strategically.
Fortunately, we can get you on that road with an offering that we call "Commodity I.T."
Too Small to Succeed?
Do you think that your business is too small to have fully supported computers? That’s just small thinking!
We offer you fully supported, modern computer systems for your small business or non-profit organization at
a low, predetermined monthly cost per workstation. The cost is about $125 per month per workstation.
That price includes buying new computers about every five years, monthly monitoring and maintenance,
an annual strategic I.T. assessment, 8x5 business support, and more.
Managed Outsourcing
Commodity I.T. is a program whereby we manage your computing platform for you.
Through partnership with others who are expert in networking, server administration, and PC maintenance;
we manage the basic support of
your PC's and servers by outsourcing to people who monitor your I.T. health and who pick up the
phone when you call.
Consider your alternatives
Alternatives to the Commodity I.T. program include:
- Buy your own equipment; and hire and manage your own I.T. staff
- Manage the computers yourself, instead of building your business
- Assign an untrained staff member to take care of your computers, instead of doing his real job
- Have your nephew in college take care of your computers, because he's a computer whiz
- Wait for the systems to eventually perform too slowly; lose productivity for a while, then go buy a new computer
- Wait for the systems to fail; and then address the lost time and data later.
- Outsource your computer service to people who advertise themselves as "geeks" who can fix your computers, but not your problems.
- Keep the solution you have now - do nothing and ignore the risks of NOT managing your I.T.
Each of the above alternatives has a cost and associated benefits. We have found that for most business of
a certain size, the cost of Commodity I.T. is LESS than the cost of not maintaining your systems
and the benefits are far greater.
